Good News!!! The project is completed and this will be the final blog post for the project. We hope you found the information to be helpful and insightful regarding the current status of the project and upcoming work.

The Village of Glenview will provide surveys in the coming weeks for you to complete regarding the construction work and notifications provided. Please take a few moments to complete this survey. ·       The Contractor will  finish transferring water services on Linden Ave this next week. 

 

The water services on Linden  will be finished early next week. The final water main connections are anticipated to be completed next week. Water services  are being replaced from the new water main to the existing valve and box located in front of each building. During the water service replacement, water to individual buildings will be shut-off for approximately 2-3 hours while the transition from the old service to the new service is made. The contractor will notify each resident prior to turning off the water and provide as much notice as possible.

Locust Avenue Water Main and Storm Sewer On-Going

·         Perform the necessary testing of the water main along Locust Avenue

·         Perform storm sewer installations along Locust Avenue

·         Grind In-place existing pavement along Linden Avenue in preparation for underground utility construction.

·         Depending on work progress, begin water main installation along Linden Avenue

 

Several residents are likely aware of the poor condition of the existing water main along Locust Avenue. The existing water main is being replaced due to its condition. Unfortunately during work this week, the existing water main did break several times causing unscheduled water main shut-downs. We are doing everything possible to ensure the new main is placed into service as quickly as possible to avoid further water main breaks and unscheduled shut-downs.

Water Main Installation On-Going

Work Performed

·         Water main installation along Locust Avenue at Magnolia Street

Work anticipated to be performed, July 16^th to July 20^th

·         Continue with water main installation along Locust Avenue from Magnolia Street to Maple Street

·         Begin performing the necessary testing of the water main along Locust Avenue

·         Start underground utility improvements along Linden Avenue.

 

Heavy construction has started along the project site. Traveling through the neighborhood is getting increasingly more difficult. Thank you again for all your patience and understanding.

Work to Begin Week of July 9th.

Due to July 4th Holiday, Construction will begin the week of July 9^th. Mobilization, material deliveries, and saw-cutting will start early in the week with heavy construction activity starting mid-week.

Minor preparation work, mobilization, and material deliveries will be on-going from now until the July 4^th Holiday.  Heavy construction is scheduled to begin on July 5^th.
